When you think about New York people always think of NYC right off the bat, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Central Park, and of course restaurants. But New York is more than just Manhattan, there’s more to explore (and eat) and Long Island has so many restaurants and food spots that are sometimes overlooked because of how popular Manhattan is. Here’s 3 places you have to eat at when you’re in Long Island ( and tell them I sent you )
River Mill
River Mill is an American restaurant in Lynbrook, its a modern place with delicious food variations. I had the eggs Benedict for brunch and the presentation alone made me love it, it’s filling and flavorful ; there’s great bite to it and it tastes better then any other Eggs Benedict I’ve had. Brunch is served with family style cornbread that reminds you of the cornbread your grandmother would make . The atmosphere here is relaxing and comfortable. They have a bar and do parties also.
Flour Shoppe
Located in Rockville Centre , Flour Shoppe is a bakery/small restaurant that my brother took me to back in May. We had this French Toast with Home Fries and it came with fresh fruit . Let me say it was delicious . The French Toast was fluffy and airy the chocolate drizzle was a great compliment to it. The place is unique from how it’s set up with the chalkboard behind the counter with drawn out illustrations and the yummy baked goods they sell. It’s become a popular spot that many locals and far comers love.
Sushi PalaceI love sushi, it’s my favorite food ever, besides Italian but I could eat it every day. The first time I had sushi I was in middle school and friends of my parents recommended it after a school concert and we’ve been going ever since; over 10 years now. Sushi Palace is in West Hempstead, you’re welcomed by the chefs and Mary the hostess. There’s windows around the restaurant so it feels more open and inviting. My favorite rolls are the lobster roll and tiger roll, and the sushi sandwich ( it’s the triangular sushi in the picture towards the top). We’ve been coming here so long that Mary knows our orders when we come. If you love sushi this is the place to come to, you’ll love it as much as I do.
These three good spots are ones I love and I know you will to when you come here. If you’ve been here to Long Island what are your favorite places you’ve been to? If you haven’t what places do you want to visit ? Let me know in the comments !
I need to visit Long Island ASAP!
