On this hot and sunny summer day my cousin and I decided to go to Fire island for the day. It's a community of various people with restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, hotels and homes. There's plenty to do there. We drove to the ferry and took it across to Ocean Beach. It's pretty much always busy and crowded when the ferry docks. People come for the weekend others are heading to their home on the island . We stopped at the station to visit my brother, then we all walked to playground and then the beach. Heading to the beach there's blocks of cute, quaint homes. Each varying in style, color and decor. The previous times I've been to Fire Island, I never got to walk down these streets and admire the homes and wildlife. I love that people add their personality to their properties here, you can see each home is unique and that each one stands out. I don't think I've ever gotten this close to a deer before. As we're walking there was a deer and two others in yard next to him. According to the residents and officers the deers here don't scare so easily. They roam island as any person does and other animals do. It was a nice addition to our walk towards the beach, and who would think deer would be on a small island.? With the colorful green trees hanging above it felt like a nature walk, I mean who sees deer heading to beach?.Once we got to the beach we settled down near the water, as hot as it was, getting my feet wet was refreshing. Aviana didn't really like it so much, only if I had her on my lap while the waves came in. Jenny enjoyed it more then she did. The beach was filled with people basking in the sun and a few surfing (which I've never really seen either.) Jaden was searching for seashells and Jenny played in the sand. Aviana played with whatever she could grab, Kim and I were relaxing and enjoying sunny day. I took a lot of pictures of the homes as we were walking to the beach, this one had a small board walk that went all the way toward more houses. It was nice seeing the different architecture of each house, where I live the houses look nothing like this . We had a fun day at Ocean Beach. It was nice seeing my brother at work and getting to spend the day together. The community there is always so welcoming and seeing the people my father worked with and now who my brother works with, they've become our extended family. Ocean Beach, Fire Island will always be like a second home away from home for me. I really love this decoration that was on one of the buildings. A daily reminder to love life. No matter how hard it gets, how crazy and what happens, love and appreciate the life you live. You only get one and it's the most precious and extraordinary thing we get to experience. If you travel to Ocean Beach, hopefully you'll come across this and let it inspire and motivate you as well.
Looks very nice! I have been wanting to take a nice weekend trip there for some time 🙂 Thanks for sharing

Ok so now I’m tempted to have my daughter make a Love Life installation on the living room wall! But probably should stick with maker on paper. Much easier to remove… But the image was just so compelling! And wildlife! so sweet! Charming post! Thanks!
